Renata is a successful founder, operator, director, investor and early-stage investor. He is the Managing Director of HTK Group, parent company of HTK Venture Capital.  He has had a wide-ranging career working in both private and public sector. He is currently a director and Chairperson on several iwi commercial investment companies, and through his CVC, manages a diverse portfolio of 25 early-stage companies through direct and co-investment vehicles across the technology and innovation sector in Aotearoa and Australia. 

Guy Royal

Guy has over 20 years as a commercial lawyer and strategic adviser on investment in Aotearoa, Hong Kong, Vietnam and the United Kingdom. Guy specialises in the Māori commercial sector in Aotearoa and has held governance roles in the forestry, investment, rail and infrastructure sectors. He currently sits on boards in venture capital, climate tech, Iwi investment and retail. His passion is working with Māori groups to accelerate the economy and produce a better standard of living for Aotearoa.

Pete Burgess

Operating Partner - Portfolio Companies

Pete has over 30 years in global executive leadership, international business, change management, business turn around and improvement, M&A and supply chain management. He was the managing director for Coats Global and has spent over 20 years in Asia and the US markets. Pete is the Director of Commerical Growth at HTK Group and him and his team will be responsible for supporting our portfolio companies to grow and scale in all aspects of their business. Pete and his wife have two daughters Hana and Holly, who are of Ngapuhi and Tuwharetoa whakapapa.
